Several thousand people are expected to turn up in State Farm Stadium in Phoenix, Arizona, this weekend to pay tributes to Charlie Kirk, who was shot dead on the campus of Utah Valley University (UVU) on September 10. Preparations are going on in full swing for the Turning Point USA founder’s funeral, the New York Post reported.

Charlie Kirk funeral: Schedule

The funeral is scheduled for Sunday, September 21. It will have an American theme, which makes a red, white, and blue dress code compulsory. It is being hosted at the State Farm Stadium in Arizona’s Glendale, which is also the home of the Arizona Cardinals.

According to New York Post, the organizers are taking all possible measures to make it accessible to the public, besides putting in heightened security measures, since several high-ranking government officials are expected to remain present.

As per the official funeral website, fightforcharlie.com, gates will be opened at 8 AM (local time), while the main program will kickstart at 11 AM.

All are allowed to take part in the funeral, while attendance is free. But people must ensure that they first get themselves registered online through the official website to get a ticket to enter the venue.

The organizers have urged people to consider arriving as early as possible and to carpool. The entry inside the stadium is on a “first-come, first-served” basis, and overflow remains available at Desert Diamond Arena, which is situated nearby.

In total, the State Farm Stadium has a capacity of 63,400 people, but it can be increased to more than 73,000 for larger events. On the other hand, the Desert Diamond Arena can have 20,000 people at once. Additional details, including event guidance and instructions, will be shared with all attendees a day before the service.

Those who are unable to reach the stadium and live far away can still watch the funeral across different news networks, such as FOX and CBS. Further, the service is expected to be streamed live by Turning Point USA.
