ADD, ONDE Join Forces for Secure Digital Environment for Children

Marrakech – Digital Development Agency (ADD) and the National Observatory for Children’s Rights (ONDE) signed, Thursday in Marrakech, a partnership agreement to promote a secure digital environment suitable for children.

This partnership is meant to raise children’s awareness of the appropriate use of digital tools, and to inform them of the many threats and dangers that this category can face when exploiting the web.

As part of the implementation of ADD’s “Digital Culture/Protection of Children Online” action plan, this partnership also aims to develop children’s knowledge and provide them with an environment conducive to digital acculturation via a series of actions and support measures dedicated to training and supervision, in addition to the introduction of digital applications specific to children’s education.

The aim of this partnership is to strengthen and unify the efforts of the two institutions to raise children’s awareness, particularly of good practices and the risks of threats linked to Internet use, ADD Managing Director Mohamed Drissi Melyani told the press.

Under the agreement, ADD and ONDE are committed to implementing several actions, including training workshops, guides and digital platforms for children, he added.

Gitex Africa 2024, which sees the participation of over 1,500 exhibitors representing more than 130 countries, is positioned as a hub for exchanges on the latest technological developments.
