Alarming toll: 15 dead and more than 2,300 injured in road accidents in one week

In a week marked by a series of tragic accidents, the roads were the scene of 1,672 incidents, leaving behind an alarming toll: 15 human losses and more than 2,300 people injured, including 66 seriously.

The statistics, recently published by the Directorate General of National Security, highlight the main reasons behind these devastating incidents. Among the contributing factors, the report highlights drivers’ lack of attention, failure to respect priorities, as well as excessive speed. In addition, failure to maintain safety distances and the inattention of pedestrians have also been identified as major elements causing these tragedies.

This report highlights the need for increased awareness of road safety and strict enforcement of driving rules. While each incident leaves behind grieving families and disrupted lives, it is imperative that concrete steps are taken to prevent such tragedies in the future.
