During a press conference this Tuesday, Jean-François Ricard, anti-terrorism public prosecutor, revealed the events of the attack which occurred in a high school in Arras.
After hearing more than 100 witnesses and the 13 people placed in police custody, “very intensive work was carried out by the investigation service”, explained this Tuesday during a press conference, Jean-François Ricard , anti-terrorism public prosecutor.
The latter detailed the facts, almost minute by minute.
8:53 a.m.: Mohammed Mogouchkov buys a phone in a supermarket in Arras.
9:07 a.m.: He takes a bus in which he handles the phone he had just bought.
10:37 a.m.: On the station square, Mohammed Mogouchkov films himself in front of the memorial. There he made a video protesting his upcoming act. It does the same with an audio recording.
10:44 a.m.: He walks up Boulevard Carnot towards the Gambetta high school where he was a student a few years earlier.
11 a.m.: He meets four teachers who were leaving high school. Equipped with two knives, Mohammed Mogouchkov violently hits Dominique Bernard in the neck and shoulder. The latter died following his injuries. Another teacher tried to intervene and was injured by a blow to the face.
A supervisor managed to relieve the injured teacher and bring everyone back into the school grounds.
Mohammed Mogouchkov also managed to enter the school courtyard.
There, a maintenance agent, equipped with a chair, tries to neutralize Mohammed Mogouchkov. The latter then tried to stab this fallen staff member several times.
A technical agent in turn intervened and also suffered several stab wounds from Mohammed Mogouchkov.
To the staff he came across, the latter would say: “Who gives you the air you breathe? Who is the only god? »
He also asked if these people were the principal or a history teacher.
Other people, notably the director of the establishment, then arrived. Mohammed Mogouchkov turned towards them without managing to turn back outside the high school grounds.
To a person who called for help, Mohammed Mogouchkov said: “Call Marianne, call your Republic! »
He tried to head towards the principal’s office when he was arrested by the police called to the scene.
In this case, this Tuesday, detention was requested for Mohammed Mogouchkov and his 16-year-old little brother. A young cousin will also be presented to an investigating magistrate.
However, the investigation remains open. The prosecution indicates that it has opened a judicial investigation for “criminal association in connection with a terrorist enterprise with a view to preparing crimes and attacks on persons”, for “assassination in relation to a terrorist enterprise”, for “attempted assassination in connection with a terrorist enterprise” and for “complicity in these last two crimes”.
