Brazil Expresses its Appreciation for HM the King’s Pioneering Role in Africa, Hails Morocco’s Dynamic of Openness, Modernization under the Sovereign’s Enlightened Leadership (Joint Communiqué)

Rabat – Brazil hailed the dynamic of openness and modernization that Morocco is undergoing, under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, expressing its appreciation for the Sovereign’s pioneering role in Africa, making the Kingdom a credible and valued partner on the international scene.

This position was expressed in a joint communiqué adopted at the end of talks held on Friday in Rabat between Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federative Republic of Brazil, Mauro Vieira, who is on an official visit to the Kingdom.

During their talks, the two ministers discussed the recent Initiatives announced by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, notably the one aimed at promoting stability, security and economic prosperity in African countries bordering the Atlantic, the Initiative to facilitate access for Sahel Countries to the Atlantic Ocean, and the strategic Morocco-Nigeria gas pipeline project, which aims to strengthen regional integration and stimulate economic development along Africa’s Atlantic coast and beyond, underlines the joint communiqué.

According to the same document, the two parties also expressed their interest in joint actions in the field of food security in Africa.

Vieira’s visit, which coincides with the 20th anniversary of His Majesty King Mohammed VI’s state visit to Brazil in 2004, reflects the ties of friendship and esteem between the Sovereign and His Excellency Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, President of the Federative Republic of Brazil.
