The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced that the qualifying draw for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) will take place on July 4, 2024. This event will take place at the SuperSport studios in Johannesburg, marking the official start of the race towards the prestigious competition which will be held in Morocco.

The draw, scheduled for 2:30 p.m. local time (12:30 p.m. GMT), will see the participation of 48 nations, including the winners of the preliminary round: Chad, Eswatini, Liberia and South Sudan. These teams will be divided into 12 groups of four teams each. Ivory Coast, defending champion, is among the top seeds.

The CAN 2025 qualifiers will begin in September 2024. Of the 48 teams, only 23 will qualify to join Morocco, the host country, already automatically qualified. The competition promises to be tough with teams ready to fight for their place.
