Casablanca launches a digital platform to simplify administrative procedures
Casablanca has introduced a new electronic platform aimed at facilitating the correction of signatures and the validation of documents, tested since Thursday in the district of Maârif. This initiative, led by the Ministry of the Interior, could be extended to other districts of the city to ease administrative travel for citizens.
The mayor of Casablanca, Nabila Rmili, and the president of the Maârif district, Abdel Sadiq Morshed, inaugurated this digital platform on Wednesday. It allows residents of Maârif to scan their national card once, freeing them from repeated trips for document validation.
District officials have already received training to ensure the proper functioning of this new interface, according to a local official. The town hall also plans to train teams from other districts with a view to gradually generalizing the platform.
This project is part of a national digitalization effort initiated in 2018. Under Law No. 55-19, adopted on September 28, 2020, all administrative procedures must be digitalized within five years. This law also requires the creation of a national portal centralizing all administrative information for citizens.
The digitalization of public services aims to reduce the documents required for certain procedures by 45%, according to initial assessments. The initiative is coordinated by the Ministry of Digital Transition, which has also implemented a methodology to simplify and digitalize administrative processes.
Despite the challenges of this transition, the Moroccan government wishes to accelerate the modernization of its administrative services for increased accessibility. The extension of this platform to other districts of Casablanca is planned for the coming months.
