Egypt’s Ambassador to Morocco Commends Role of HM the King, Chairman of al-Quds Committee, in Supporting Palestinian Cause

During a visit to the Bayt Mal al-Quds Asharif Agency’s headquarters, the Egyptian diplomat underscored “the historic role of the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Kingdom of Morocco in supporting the Palestinian cause and defending the rights of the brotherly Palestinian people,” the Agency said in a press release.
In this respect, he recalled the organization, recently in Cairo, of the Extraordinary Arab Summit which culminated in significant conclusions with regard to the particular circumstances undergoing in the region.
Among these conclusions are mainly the complete rejection of any form of forced displacement of the Palestinian people and the adoption of the Gaza reconstruction plan. The final statement of the Summit also reiterated the importance of the role of al-Quds Committee and the Bayt Mal al-Quds Asharif Agency.
For his part, Managing Director of the Bayt Mal al-Quds Asharif Agency, Mohamed Salem Cherkaoui, gave a presentation on the missions and the achievements of the Agency in al-Quds, on High Royal Instructions, as well as the results of his field visit to al-Quds.
Cherkaoui also mentioned the challenges facing the Agency’s work in al-Quds, including funding limitations and difficulties encountered on the ground, highlighting the role played by the Moroccan cultural center “Bayt al-Maghrib” in al-Quds.
On this occasion, the Egyptian diplomat visited the Al-Quds Committee’s permanent exhibition and the stands dedicated to Palestinian products, before learning about the innovative initiatives implemented by the Agency in various fields, notably with regard to safeguarding the Holy City’s historical and architectural heritage. The two parties then discussed prospects for continued cooperation and coordination.
At the end of the visit, Abdellatif was awarded the Bayt Mal al-Quds Asharif Agency’s Silver Shield.
