Eid Al-Adha 2024 in Morocco: highway users, this concerns you

As Eid Al-Adha 2024 approaches in Morocco, the Société Nationale des Autoroutes du Maroc (ADM) informs motorists that the motorway network will experience a significant increase in traffic. To ensure a safe and comfortable journey, ADM presents a series of important recommendations.

Traffic Forecast for Eid Al-Adha 2024

ADM anticipates high attendance on the following dates and times: Friday, Saturday and Sunday June 14, 15 and 16 between 3 p.m. and 10 p.m., as well as Tuesday June 18 from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., the period corresponding to the return from the Eid Al holidays -Adha.

Tips for a Safe and Comfortable Travel

To avoid inconveniences on the road, ADM strongly advises planning trips in advance. Motorists are invited to consult real-time traffic conditions via the ADM TRAFIC application and to stay informed of weather alerts, particularly in the event of strong wind, rain or fog. It is crucial, particularly for users of the Taza-Oujda axis, to take precautions due to the gusts of wind announced for Saturday June 15 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. by the General Directorate of Meteorology.

Recommendations for Road Safety

ADM reiterates the importance of taking breaks every two hours to prevent fatigue while driving. It is also essential to check the mechanical condition of the vehicle, especially the tires. Motorists should avoid using the emergency lane unless absolutely necessary. It is also advisable to check and recharge the balance of the Jawaz Pass before taking the highway to avoid queues and problems at the automatic toll booth.

ADM Measures to Manage Traffic

ADM assures that it will implement special measures to manage heavy traffic during this period. This includes strengthening traffic management and assistance teams, anticipated equipment maintenance, infrastructure upkeep, and increased communication with users. ADM also works closely with all stakeholders in the motorway network to ensure a smooth and secure travel experience.
