Eid al-Adha: Times and Places of Prayer in Morocco

Following the official announcement of the date of the first day of Eid al-Adha, set for Monday June 17, 2024, the Ministry of Habous and Islamic Affairs has published the prayer times for the main cities of Morocco. Citizens prepare for this important religious event by taking note of the precise times communicated.

Prayer Times in Main Cities

The timings of Eid al-Adha prayers in major cities are as follows:

Casablanca: 7:00 a.m. Fez: 7:00 a.m. Rabat: 7:00 a.m. Marrakech: 7:00 a.m. Tangier: 7:00 a.m. Béni Mellal: 7:00 a.m. Oujda-Angad: 8:00 a.m. Taza: 7:30 a.m. Khemisset: 7:00 a.m. Guelmim: 8:00 a.m.

Organization and Places of Prayer

Each city has designated specific places for Eid prayers, including large mosques and open spaces set up for the occasion. The regional delegation of Islamic affairs published a detailed list of prayer sites, mentioning the imams responsible.

In Casablanca, the Hassan II Mosque and several public spaces will welcome the faithful. In Fez, prayer will be held mainly at the Al Quaraouiyine Mosque. In Rabat, the As-Sounna Mosque and dedicated spaces will be used. Marrakech will see its faithful gather at the Koutoubia Mosque and other prepared places. In Tangier, large mosques and public squares will serve as places of prayer. Béni Mellal, Oujda-Angad, Taza, Khemisset, and Guelmim have also designated their main mosques and spaces for this event.
