Astronomical calculations indicate that the first day of blessed Eid al-Fitr 1445/2024 will be Wednesday, April 10, 2024. This is due to the forecast of the appearance of the Shawwal crescent on the evening of Tuesday, April 9, at 11:23 p.m. of Greenwich.
Calculations also indicate that sunset on April 9 will be at 7:24 p.m., while the time of sun-moon conjunction on the same day will be at 11:23 p.m.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Wakfs uses the legal vision of the crescent to determine the beginning of the months of the Hijri calendar. Thus, the ministry will observe the Shawwal crescent on the evening of April 9 and officially announce the date of Eid al-Fitr 2024 in Morocco after the confirmation of the crescent sighting.
The Eid al-Fitr 2024 holidays in Morocco will begin on the first day of the month of Shawwal, i.e. Wednesday April 10, 2024.
These holidays will last throughout the days of Eid, including April 10, 11 and 12, 2024.
