Fire on the Road between Marrakech and Agadir: A Truck Devastated by Flames
A spectacular fire ravaged a large truck yesterday, Sunday February 11, on the road linking Marrakech to Agadir, near the dreaded Ameskroud region, known as the “road of death”.
The authorities reported that the fire, of still undetermined origin, caused significant damage to the vehicle, consuming most of it, without fortunately causing any casualties.
The emergency services, quickly dispatched to the scene, were able to control the flames which threatened to spread further. At the same time, the police opened an investigation to elucidate the circumstances of this fire which occurred in an area known for its frequent accidents, in particular because of the topographical challenges faced by drivers of heavy vehicles.
This event once again highlights the risks inherent to this section of road and the need to take measures to ensure the safety of users.
