Germany Opens Its Doors to Young Moroccans

The German government recently announced a new initiative aimed at attracting skilled workers from around the world. The initiative, called the “Opportunity Card,” represents a major step in Germany’s efforts to strengthen its workforce.

From now on, qualified workers outside the European Union will have the opportunity to apply for the “Opportunity Card”, a measure which is part of the third phase of the Worker Immigration Act in Germany .

According to German officials, the card aims to meet the needs of the country’s economy by attracting the necessary talent, without requiring a prior employment contract.

The eligibility criteria to obtain the “Opportunity Card” are rigorous. Applicants must have completed professional training of at least two years or hold a university degree, in addition to being fluent in German or English.

Applicants will be assessed on various aspects, including their language level, professional experience, age and connection to Germany. Points will be awarded based on these criteria, thereby determining applicants’ eligibility for the card.

Additionally, professionals working in sectors with labor shortages in Germany can benefit from additional points when evaluating their application.

The “Opportunity Card” offers foreign holders, outside the European Union, the opportunity to seek employment in Germany for a period of one year.
