“Grain and Milling Expo”: four conventions to develop technical cooperation in the field of cereals – Media7

Four partnership agreements were signed on Wednesday in Casablanca, with the aim of developing technical cooperation in the field of cereals, as well as training and teaching of bakery professions, on the sidelines of the 9th edition of the International Cereal Industries Exhibition “Grain and Milling Expo”.

Initialed by Abdelkader Alaoui, president of the National Flour Milling Federation (FNM) and the Bühler group, a Swiss company established in Uzwil, represented by Samuel Schaer, the first agreement aims to establish collaboration between the Bühler group and the Institute Milling Industry Training Program (IFIM) in order to provide training and education to the target audience in Casablanca, and thus improve their skills and knowledge in multiple areas.

These include grain storage and handling, wheat milling, animal feed production and automation and digital solutions.

The second agreement was signed between “US Wheat Associates”, called “USW”, represented by Ian Flagg and the FNM. Its objective is to strengthen the partnership, by broadening the scope of action of the USW and the FNM, as well as developing the reception capacity of the Moroccan Milling Training Center.

Added to this is an agreement in the field of cereal trade and processing signed between “Agriculture and horticulture development board United Kingdom” (AHDB), represented by David Bell, and the FNM.

This convention aims to promote cooperation, joint initiatives and the exchange of knowledge in the field of grain trade and processing as well as to strengthen the grain trade and processing sector.

Regarding the last convention, it focused on the definition of relations between the FNM and the Intercéreals Association, represented by Philippe Heusele, for the conduct of a program of technical exchanges and cooperation in the field of cereals.

This agreement is part of the continuity of the protocols of understanding currently in place between the FNM and France Export Céréales, since 2004, following the merger-absorption in 2021 of France Export Céréales with Intercéales.
