Heatwave in Morocco: Weather forecast for today

Today, an intense heat wave is hitting several Moroccan regions, according to forecasts from the General Directorate of Meteorology. Temperatures will remain high throughout the day in the interior plains, the eastern region, the Middle Atlas, the south of the Rif and Saïss, the Souss region, as well as in the southeast of the country. Residents are warned to take precautions against this extreme heat.

The weather conditions also predict the formation of low clouds and localized fog over the Atlantic plains, the southern coasts and the Mediterranean coast, mainly during the night and early in the morning. This situation could reduce visibility on the roads, requiring increased vigilance from drivers.

Relatively strong winds will blow over the central plains, the eastern region, the Middle Atlas and the south of the country, accompanied by local dust. This combination of weather factors could affect air quality in these areas. Residents are advised to protect themselves from dust and follow local recommendations.

Minimum temperatures will range from 25 to 32 degrees Celsius in the southeast of the country, while they will be between 18 and 24 degrees Celsius in other regions. Daytime temperatures will continue to rise, exacerbating the already present feeling of heat in the affected areas.

Regarding sea conditions, the Mediterranean coast and the Strait of Gibraltar are expected to experience relatively calm to slightly rough waters, while the Atlantic coast will have slightly rough to choppy waves. Boaters and fishermen are advised to stay informed of local weather updates before setting sail.

Today is expected to be a period of intense heat and windy conditions in many parts of Morocco. Residents are strongly advised to stay hydrated, limit outdoor activities during the hottest parts of the day, and follow the advice of local authorities to protect themselves from the effects of the heatwave.
