Intense Heat Expected in Several Regions of Morocco

The General Directorate of Meteorology forecasts high temperatures for tomorrow, Thursday, in several regions of Morocco. The affected areas include the interior plains, the eastern region, the Middle Atlas areas, the south of the Rif and the Saïss, as well as the Souss region and the southeast of the country. The northeastern and southern regions of the southern provinces of the Kingdom will also be affected by this heat wave.

Weather Forecast for Tomorrow

Low clouds with localized fog are also expected to form on the Atlantic plains, the southern coasts and the Mediterranean coast, particularly during the night and morning. These weather conditions will contribute to a feeling of humidity in these regions.

Strong winds are expected in the central plains, eastern region, middle Atlas and southern parts of the country, accompanied by local dust storms. These winds could make travel conditions difficult, especially in rural areas.

Minimum temperatures will range between 25 and 32 degrees in the southeast of the country, while the rest of the regions will experience temperatures between 18 and 24 degrees. These high night temperatures reflect the persistence of heat even after sunset.

Temperatures on the rise

Daytime temperatures will rise, accentuating the already present feeling of heat. Residents of the affected areas are advised to take precautions to avoid heatstroke, especially the elderly and children.

As for sea conditions, the sea will be calm to slightly rough on the Mediterranean coast and the Strait of Gibraltar, while it will be slightly rough to rough along the Atlantic coast. Sailing and swimming enthusiasts are therefore advised to exercise caution, even if conditions seem favourable.

The General Directorate of Meteorology’s forecast highlights a notable heat episode, emphasizing the importance of staying informed of weather updates and taking necessary measures to protect oneself from excessive heat. Local authorities could also take measures to help vulnerable populations cope with these harsh conditions.

In conclusion, Morocco is preparing for a day of intense heat in many of its regions. Weather forecasts show high temperatures and windy conditions, with increased risks of dust storms. Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and follow the recommendations of authorities to ensure their safety and well-being during this period of extreme heat.
