Labor market: 5 regions are home to 72.6% of workers aged 15 and over in Q3-2023 (HCP)

Five regions housed 72.6% of all workers aged 15 and over during the third quarter of 2023, according to the recent information note from the High Commission for Planning (HCP) relating to the situation. of the labor market.

The Casablanca-Settat region comes in first position with 22.5% of assets, followed by Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (13.8%), Marrakech-Safi (13.1%), Fès-Meknes (11 .7%) and Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (11.5%), specifies the HCP.

The said note also reveals that five regions recorded activity rates higher than the national average (43.2%). These are the regions of Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (47%), Casablanca-Settat (45.9%), South (45.6%), Marrakech-Safi (43.8%) and Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (43.6%).

On the other hand, the lowest rates are recorded in the regions of Drâa-Tafilalet (38.3%), Souss-Massa (39.5%), Oriental (39.9%), Béni Mellal- Khenifra (40%) and Fez-Meknes (41.8%).

Furthermore, six regions concentrate almost three quarters of unemployed people (75.8%) at the national level. Casablanca-Settat comes in first position with 25.1%, followed by Fès-Meknes (13%), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (11.7%), Oriental (9.8%) and Marrakech- Safi (8.1%) and Souss-Massa (8.1%).

The highest unemployment rates are recorded in the regions of South (23.5%), Oriental (20.3%), Drâa-Tafilalet (15.2%) and Casablanca-Settat (15 %).

With lower acuity, two other regions exceed the national average (13.5%), namely Fès-Meknes (14.9%) and Souss-Massa (14.6%). On the other hand, the regions of Marrakech-Safi, Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceïma record the lowest rates, with 8.3% and 9.4% respectively.
