Madagascar Hails Morocco’s Serious, Credible Efforts to Move Forward towards Resolving Sahara Dispute

Rabat – The Republic of Madagascar welcomes the serious and credible efforts of the Kingdom of Morocco to move forward towards resolving the dispute over the Moroccan Sahara.

This position was expressed in a joint communiqué issued following the discussions on Friday in Rabat between the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Madagascar, Rasata Rafaravavitafika.

In this regard, the head of Malagasy diplomacy reiterated her support for the efforts made by the United Nations.

In this context, the two parties reaffirmed their commitment to the principles of international law, particularly the sovereignty of states.
