Marrakech Under Shock: Violent Winds Destroy the Roof of a Bus

In the bustling city of Marrakech, a tragic event shook the community as strong winds tore the roof off a semi-urban transport bus connecting the city to Oulad Delim. Despite the ensuing chaos among the passengers, no injuries were reported. However, this situation has sparked growing anger among residents, who view the incident as a threat to their safety and well-being.

The Moroccan Association for Human Rights, representing the concerns of citizens, denounced this incident as a “humiliation for the inhabitants of Marrakech”, highlighting the flaws in the maintenance of public transport vehicles. According to the association, all buses are affected by mechanical and maintenance problems, exposing passengers to unnecessary risks.

This precarious situation is exacerbated by the fact that the maintenance contract between the municipal council and the transport company has expired. As contract renewal discussions are underway, residents are expressing frustration over a recurring temporary extension that appears to prolong their suffering indefinitely.

In a call for action, residents are demanding immediate measures to ensure their safety during their daily commute. They call on the authorities to take concrete measures to ensure the proper maintenance of public transport vehicles and to strengthen monitoring to prevent such incidents from happening again in the future.
