Mohamed Boudrika still in detention in Germany – Media7
Mohamed Boudrika, former chairman of Raja Club Athletic, remains in detention in Germany following his arrest last July at Hamburg airport. Despite the submission of extradition papers by Moroccan authorities, no decision has yet been taken by German authorities regarding his fate.
According to information provided by the Hamburg Attorney General’s Office and relayed by the Moroccan sports media Hesport, Boudrika remains in detention and no date has been set for his possible extradition to Morocco. German authorities have confirmed that they have received the official extradition documents, but the process is still ongoing.
Boudrika was arrested on the basis of a wanted notice issued by Europol, in response to a request from the Spanish authorities, who pointed to the Moroccan businessman’s alleged involvement in suspicious financial transactions in Spain.
Germany considers extradition
The German prosecutor’s office has not yet ruled on the extradition request filed by Morocco. The Moroccan authorities, for their part, have already forwarded the complete judicial file to their German counterparts pending a response. This file, prepared by the King’s Attorney General at the Casablanca Court of Appeal, sets out the proceedings against Boudrika. It has been forwarded to the relevant departments of the Ministry of Justice to speed up the process.
Temporary reshuffle at the head of Raja Club Athletic
Meanwhile, Raja Club Athletic has taken steps to ensure stability in its management. Adil Hala was appointed interim president of the club at a recent meeting, taking over from Boudrika pending the outcome of his legal troubles.
The Boudrika case continues to generate interest not only in Morocco, but also internationally, due to its potential repercussions in the judicial and sporting spheres. The future of the former Raja president will depend on the decision of the German authorities, while the club continues to move forward under Hala’s leadership.
