Morocco’s Justice Minister Holds Talks in Cairo with Arab Peers

On this occasion, Ouahbi told MAP his talks with Egyptian Minister of Justice Adnan Fanjari spanned several topics, including the exchange of prisoners and other matters of mutual interest. He also highlighted that the meeting touched on cooperation in the exchange of legislation and the field of artificial intelligence.

In addition, Ouahbi stated that discussions with the Iraqi Minister of Justice focused on issues of common interest, with both sides agreeing to sign a number of bilateral agreements as soon as possible.

He also mentioned exchanging views with other Arab Justice Ministers attending the Council session, noting that Morocco-Arab relations in the field of Justice are good and are expected to yield positive results.

Morocco is represented at this meeting by a delegation led by Ouahbi and composed of Moroccan Ambassador in Cairo and Permanent Representative to the Arab League Mohamed Ait Ouali as well as Director of Criminal Affairs, Pardons and Crime Detection at the Ministry of Justice Hicham Mellati. 

The meeting’s agenda involves several topics, including activating the Arab Convention for the Suppression of Terrorism and its implementation mechanism, the Arab Convention on Combating Money laundering and the Financing of Terrorism, the Arab Convention on Combating Information Technology, in addition to strengthening Arab and international cooperation in the fight against terrorism.
