Users worldwide, including many in India, have reported difficulties using both the mobile application and the website.
According to Downdetector, which tracks outages by collecting status reports from various sources, more than 25,000 users had reported issues with the social media platform as of 8.39 am EDT, or 6.09 pm IST.

69 per cent of the complaints were about the X app not functioning, 23 per cent related to website access issues, and 8 per cent involved problems connecting to servers, Downdetector showed.
Downdetector’s figures are derived from user-submitted reports, so the actual number of affected users may differ. The outage on X has been reported for the second time within 24 hours.
‘Cyberattack’ causes 30-minute outage on X on March 10
The microblogging site was down for about 30 minutes on March 10, after which many users reported being unable to access it through both the mobile app and the web version.
Elon Musk had attributed a series of intermittent outages on X to a “cyberattack.”
Just weeks later, on March 28, over 56,000 user accounts reported issues with the social media platform, according to Downdetector, marking another disruption in the service.
Moreover, in September 2024, the platform experienced an outage lasting over an hour, raising ongoing concerns about its reliability and stability.

The company’s engineering team previously had reported, “We’re still experiencing issues from yesterday’s data centre outage. Login and signup services are unavailable for some users, and there may be delays in notifications and Premium features.”
X has not yet revealed the exact cause or the full extent of the outage, sparking concerns about the platform’s ability to quickly restore access to key features and private communications.
