Schengen Visa Crisis: Brokers Monopolize Appointments for Moroccans

Moroccans are facing an unprecedented crisis in obtaining Schengen visa appointments, particularly for France, this August. The appointments, managed by the “TLS” system, disappear in a matter of minutes every Friday, fueling accusations of a monopoly by brokers using “bots” to monopolize available slots.

Accusations of Monopoly and Use of “Bots”

Citizens are complaining massively on social networks, accusing the “samsara” (visa brokers) of monopolizing visa appointments via automated programs. These brokers then resell these slots at exorbitant prices, sometimes exceeding three thousand dirhams.

Abdelkrim Chafii, vice-president of the Moroccan Federation of Consumer Rights, expressed doubts about the possible complicity of intermediary companies such as TLScontact. He stressed that, despite public protests, the problems persist, suggesting an urgent investigation by the Moroccan authorities.

Pressure on European Authorities and Consulates

Bouazza Kherrati, president of the Moroccan Federation of Consumer Rights (FMDC), also criticized the use of “bots” and called on European consulates to reform the visa application process. He suggested the introduction of the digital visa and the abolition of the non-refund of fees in the event of refusal.

Call for Urgent Reforms

Kherrati stressed that visa applications generate significant profits for organized networks, hindering citizens wishing to travel for study, medical treatment or tourism. He urged the authorities to recognize the gravity of the situation and intervene quickly.

In summary, the current crisis of Schengen visa appointments for Moroccans is exacerbated by the intervention of brokers using automated methods to monopolize available slots. Calls for reform and a thorough investigation are growing, underscoring the urgency of action by the authorities to protect citizens’ rights.
