Emergency services were unable to resuscitate the child.

A little girl aged 3 died during the night from Saturday to Sunday in Conches-en-Ouche (Eure). Called to intervene at the couple’s home for a cardio-respiratory arrest of this child.

According to information from Paris Normandie, citing the Evreux public prosecutor’s office, when help arrived “she was covered” in bruises.

The child was taken into care and transported to Rouen University Hospital.

Despite their efforts, emergency services were unable to resuscitate her. The girl’s mother and stepfather were arrested and taken into police custody.

The Evreux public prosecutor is due to hold a press conference this Tuesday at the judicial court.
