Singer DaniLeigh Arrested for DUI Hit-and-Run in Miami

Renowned vocalist DaniLeigh was apprehended in the early hours of Tuesday on charges of felony hit-and-run following an incident in which she allegedly drove under the influence and collided with a moped rider in South Beach. Shockingly, she continued driving, dragging the scooter along for a block before being intercepted by authorities.

The 28-year-old artist, whose birth name is Danielle Leigh Curiel, hails from Miami and currently resides in Pembroke Pines. Besides her musical career, she is recognized as the former girlfriend of rapper DaBaby, with whom she shares a daughter.

As per an arrest report from the Miami Beach Police Department, the incident occurred shortly after midnight. Curiel was operating a Mercedes-Benz G550, commonly referred to as a G-Wagen, on Washington Avenue, exhibiting reckless behavior such as excessive speeding and erratic lane changes.

Law enforcement officials claim that Curiel collided with the moped rider near the vicinity of 11th Street and callously continued driving without halting or reducing her speed. This shocking event unfolded just outside the Miami Beach police headquarters.

Subsequently, an officer managed to stop Curiel near 16th Street after she initially disregarded the instruction to pull over. Police officers observed a distinct smell of alcohol emanating from her SUV, and Curiel exhibited signs of impaired motor skills.

Despite her claim of returning from a Memorial Day gathering and vehemently denying any involvement in an accident or alcohol consumption, the results of a breathalyzer test contradicted her statement. The test revealed blood alcohol levels of 0.145% and 0.148%, nearly twice the legal limit.

Further investigation led the authorities to discover an empty bottle of Don Julio 1942 tequila within the vehicle.

Fortunately, the moped rider survived the ordeal, but not without enduring a kidney laceration and a fracture to the spine, as documented in the report.

In addition to the serious charge of felony hit-and-run, Curiel also faces two citations for driving under the influence. As of Tuesday afternoon, her name no longer appeared in the Miami-Dade jail records.
