Strategic Transfer: Why Youssef En-Nesyri Could Be Key for Manchester United? – Media7
Manchester United are reportedly considering signing Youssef En-Nesyri from La Liga club Sevilla as an alternative to Serhou Guirassy.
Who is Youssef En-Nesyri?
According to a report from The Sun, Youssef En-Nesyri is attracting interest from Manchester United. The Red Devils are looking for a striker ahead of the January transfer window. However, their top target, Serhou Guirassy, prefers a move to Tottenham, forcing them to look to La Liga for an alternative.
Youssef En-Nesyri has established himself as one of the most underrated strikers in La Liga over the last few years. The Moroccan international has been in Spain since 2015, arriving from his native country more than eight years ago. He stood out during his time at CD Leganes, but he took his game to the next level at Sevilla CF.
The 26-year-old has been one of the standout performers for Sevilla since arriving at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium almost four years ago. Although he hasn’t been prolific this season, he has a decent tally of nine goals and two assists so far. Meanwhile, En-Nesyri’s progress has not escaped attention.
The former Leganes striker was particularly popular after his exploits at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, where he helped Morocco write a historic campaign by reaching the semi-finals. Many well-known Premier League clubs were interested in ending his stay in La Liga during this year’s two transfer windows. His next destination could be Manchester United.
Call from Manchester United?
The Red Devils are keen to sign a striker during the January transfer window. Anthony Martial has no future at Old Trafford, with Manchester United ready to part ways with him. Additionally, with Rasmus Hojlund yet to score a league goal since arriving from Atalanta, Manchester United may need an alternative.
Serhou Guirassy is therefore Manchester United’s main target. However, the report states that the VfB Stuttgart striker is interested in joining Tottenham Hotspur. Thus, the Red Devils need an alternative to Guirassy, with Youssef En-Nesyri emerging on their radar.
The 26-year-old has proven himself in La Liga over the past few seasons. He was also exceptional for Morocco during the World Cup. So, he could be ready for a challenge in the Premier League. It will be interesting to see if a move to Manchester United sees the light of day in January.
