The 17th Moussem of Tan-Tan from June 26 to 30 under the theme: “20 years of safeguarding and human development”

Guelmim – The 17th edition of the Tan-Tan Moussem, organized under the patronage of HM King Mohammed VI by the Almougar Foundation, will take place from June 26 to 30 under the theme “20 years of safeguarding and human development”.

The Moussem of Tan-Tan, inscribed by UNESCO in 2008 on the representative list of the intangible cultural heritage of Humanity, is a flagship event which celebrates nomadic traditions and Hassani culture.

This prestigious event, which this year commemorates its 20th anniversary, is a major cultural event which is of great importance as a gathering of around thirty nomadic tribes who meet, exchange and preserve their cultural heritage, particularly through music, dance, crafts and traditional rites, organizers said.

The program for this 17th edition, which promises to be rich and varied, will offer an immersive experience of nomadic culture with captivating traditional shows, poetry evenings, authentic craft demonstrations, Tbouridas, camel races and heritage exhibitions which are planned throughout the event, highlighting the living heritage of the region, they highlighted in a press release.

There are also camel milking competitions, traditional popular games as well as unique musical scenes featuring nationally and internationally renowned artists as well as local talents who add a festive dimension to the event. .

As part of this event, a unique conference bringing together experts, researchers and enthusiasts will be organized, combining heritage elements and economic dimensions. An unprecedented meeting where cultural development, African depth of Hassani culture and investment prospects in the region combine, according to the same sources.

For seven consecutive years, the Tan-Tan Moussem will welcome, like previous editions, the United Arab Emirates as partners, thus strengthening the links of collaboration and cultural exchange which characterize this emblematic event, and consolidating the links of brotherhood with Morocco.
