The discontent of public sector doctors is growing in the face of the finance law
Public sector doctors have decided to join strikes already underway in the health sector, in protest against certain provisions of the 2025 finance bill. This initiative follows the announcement of the independent union of doctors in the sector public, which provides for a series of actions, including stopping the issuance of non-urgent medical certificates and boycotting key programs and school health campaigns.
The union calls on the government to reverse reforms that it considers harmful to the rights of workers in the sector. He particularly criticizes the refusal to develop human resources, considered a major setback for the health system.
At the same time, internal and resident doctors announced a 72-hour national strike, from October 22 to 24, to denounce the inaction of the Ministry of Health in the face of their demands. This strike, which will only affect emergency, resuscitation and intensive care services, aims to draw attention to the deterioration of working conditions and the decline in the quality of care.
The National Health Federation also called for a one-hour partial work stoppage, scheduled for October 23. Rallies in front of regional health establishments are scheduled to denounce recent reforms and demand the revision of laws 22.08 and 22.09, as well as the withdrawal of decrees adopted in July 2024, deemed unfavorable to health professionals.
These strike movements reflect deep dissatisfaction within the health sector, while negotiations with the government remain deadlocked.
