UNHRC Presidency, Proof That Morocco Has ‘Very Fair and Open’ Human Rights System (Nigerian Academic)

Abuja – Morocco’s election to the presidency of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) proves that the Kingdom has a “very fair and open” human rights system, said Farouk Bibi-Farouk, professor of Political Economy at the University of Abuja, Nigeria.

More broadly, Bibi-Farouk told MAP that “the fact that Morocco has been recognized to chair this Council proves that the Kingdom has a very fair and open human rights system, which has created a sense of freedom and prosperity among its people that should not be ignored”.

“This is also proof that, under the reign of HM King Mohammed VI, Morocco is experiencing political stability, as well as the inherent participation of its citizens in the affairs of state,” he emphasized, while congratulating Morocco, King and people, on its accession to lead the United Nations Human Rights Council.

The academic underlined the serious challenges that the Kingdom of Morocco will face during its term as Chair of the United Nations Human Rights Council.
