Upper House Speaker Holds Talks in Nouakchott with Mauritanian Senior Officials

Nouakchott – Morocco’s House of Representatives Speaker, Rachid Talbi Alami, held, on Saturday in Nouakchott, talks with several members of the Mauritanian government, focused on boosting bilateral relations.

The talks took place as part of Talbi El Alami’s working visit to Mauritania, aimed at further contributing to the positive dynamic of Morocco-Mauritanian relations and raising them to the level of the aspirations of both countries’ leaders, His Majesty King Mohammed VI and Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani.

The Lower House Speaker discussed with the Mauritanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad, Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, ways of strengthening bilateral relations and issues of common interest.

Accompanied by members of the Moroccan parliamentary delegation and the Kingdom’s ambassador to Mauritania, Hamid Chabar, Talbi Alami also held talks with the Agriculture Minister, Momma Ould Beibat Hamahoullah, and the Petroleum, Mines and Energy Minister, Nani Ould Chrougha.

During his visit, the House of Representatives speaker was received by the Mauritanian Prime Minister, Mohamed Ould Bilal. Talbi Alami also discussed ways of enhancing bilateral parliamentary cooperation with the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, Mohamed Bamba Meguet.
