WB/IMF Assemblies: Meetings between Mr. Akhannouch and the UN Special Envoy for financing climate action – Media7

Marrakech – The Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, held talks on Wednesday in Marrakech with the United Nations Special Envoy for Climate Action Financing, Mark Carney, on the sidelines of the Annual Meetings of the World Bank Group (WB) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
In a statement to the press following this interview, which took place in the presence of the Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, Leila Benali, Mr. Carney indicated that this meeting was an opportunity to discuss the different economic opportunities offered by the Kingdom, noting that Morocco presents an example to the world in terms of ambition, will and innovation.
Regarding the organization of the WB/IMF Annual Meetings, the UN official noted that this edition is the best in terms of organization, and constitutes a pivotal moment for the whole world.
For her part, Ms. Benali noted that this high mass represents an opportunity to shed light on the efforts made by Morocco in the field of financing the energy transition and sustainable development, in addition to the actions carried out by the country with a view to to attract financing to promote investment in these two areas.
Coming from the four corners of the planet, participants in the WB/IMF Assemblies held in Marrakech, focus for a week on the major current issues linked in particular to financing policies, economic growth and climate change.
