Weather in Morocco: Friday Ahead Under Contrasted Skies

Morocco is bracing for a varied weather day as we head towards the end of the week. According to the latest forecasts from the General Directorate of Meteorology, Friday promises a mix of climatic conditions across the Kingdom.

A Friday in Two Faces

In the southeastern regions of Morocco, inside the southern areas, as well as locally in the northern and central interior plains, the thermometer will rise, announcing a relatively hot Friday. Minimum temperatures will oscillate between 10 and 15 degrees Celsius in the Atlas and Middle Atlas highlands, while in the south and southeast they will reach between 22 and 29 degrees Celsius. For the rest of the Kingdom, expect minimum temperatures ranging from 16 to 21 degrees Celsius.

Clouds and Chance of Precipitation

However, the Moroccan sky will not be uniformly sunny. The northern and central plains will see the appearance of fog banks, offering a mysterious vision of the landscape. In the eastern region, unstable clouds will form, bringing with them the threat of lightning and scattered raindrops. This meteorological instability will also affect the Atlas highlands and the eastern region of the country.

Variable Maritime Conditions

If you are planning a sea getaway, pay attention to sea conditions. The Mediterranean will remain calm to slightly agitated, while the Strait of Gibraltar will experience slight agitation. The coasts from Tarfaya to Boujdour will see mild to rough seas, while the other coasts will experience variable roughness ranging from light to rough.

In summary, Friday in Morocco will be characterized by a mix of warm and sunny weather in some areas, while others will see the arrival of clouds and scattered precipitation. Marine conditions will also vary along the coasts. Stay informed of the latest weather updates to best plan your day’s activities.
