Trend of COVID-19 in Morocco: More than 300 new cases reported last week

The Ministry of Health and Welfare announced today, Friday September 1, 2023, in its weekly bulletin, the registration of a total of 309 new cases of COVID-19, with no deaths recorded.
Morocco continues to fight the pandemic
The ministry, in its weekly bulletin covering the period from August 26 to September 1, 2023, pointed out that 6,886,234 people received their third dose of the virus vaccine. The number of people who received their second dose reached 23,425,735, while 24,923,869 people received their first dose.
A total of 61,009 people also received the fourth booster dose. The new toll of virus infections has brought the total number of confirmed cases in the kingdom to 1,275,864 since the first reported case on March 2, 2020, with a weekly positivity rate of around 6.4%.

The new cases of infection were recorded in the following regions:
Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (101 cases) Casablanca-Settat (84 cases) Souss-Massa (60 cases) Fès-Meknes (15 cases) L’Oriental (7 cases) Béni Mellal-Khénifra (17 cases) Guelmim-Oued Noun ( 5 cases) Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (3 cases) Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceïma (1 case) Drâa-Tafilalet (0 cases)
The total number of active cases stands at 328, with no serious cases recorded during the same period. The situation remains under control, but it is essential to maintain precautions to prevent the continued spread of the virus.
