Stabbing between high school students near Perpignan: the alleged perpetrator, a minor, prosecuted for aggravated violence – Media7

A 17-year-old high school student will have to answer for a stabbing attack on a student from Céret high school, on Thursday September 21, 2023, when leaving the school bus.

An 18-year-old high school student was stabbed in the stomach last Thursday shortly before 8 a.m. not far from the entrance to the Déodat-de-Séverac high school in Céret. Seriously injured, without his life being in danger, the victim was quickly taken care of by the emergency services while the alleged attacker, a minor aged 17, was arrested at the scene of the altercation by the local police.

The latter was immediately placed in police custody. He was referred to the Perpignan public prosecutor’s office on Saturday morning. At the end of this referral, the children’s judge ordered his placement under judicial supervision, in accordance with the prosecutor’s orders. The accused was therefore released under conditions pending his summons before the juvenile judge.

The young man will have to answer for violence aggravated by three circumstances followed by incapacity for more than 8 days, introduction of a weapon without legitimate reason into a school establishment, and transport without legitimate reason of a bladed or incapacitating category D weapon.
