Through this opinion, the CESE intends to contribute to a better understanding of begging as a social phenomenon, to identify its main causes, forms, scale and socio-economic underlying factors, adds the press release, making it known that this project The opinion also aims to question the actions and public programs implemented to deal with the phenomenon of begging and, more generally, the fight against poverty and precariousness.
In addition, and following the earthquake which affected several provinces of the Kingdom, causing enormous human and material losses, the CESE joins the surge of national solidarity, which is part of the duties of responsible citizenship, and undertakes, through a voluntary initiative, to contribute to Special Fund 126, set up in execution of the High Royal Instructions, for the management of the effects of this earthquake, underlines the press release.
This contribution includes, according to the same source, one month’s salary of the President and Secretary General of the CESE, the allowances granted to members of the CESE for the month of September, as well as three days of work on the salaries of administrative executives of the CESE , in accordance with the relevant circular from the Head of Government.
In the wake of this voluntary approach, the Association of Social Works of CESE staff intends to participate in the national mobilization of civil society to support the efforts made by public authorities by providing food aid, blankets, clothing and other basic needs of affected families in these areas, the press release concludes.
