Suspension of Classes Due to Weather Alert

Classes were suspended in rural areas of the Ouarzazate region on Monday, in response to a weather alert issued by the General Directorate of Meteorology. This decision was taken by the Regional Vigilance Committee to protect students and teachers from the predicted dangerous weather conditions.

The Ministry of National Education ordered the regional director to apply security measures in the educational establishments concerned. Local authorities also insist on vigilance in urban areas, although only rural schools are affected by this suspension.

In the neighboring region of Tinghir, the suspension of classes is limited to mountainous areas, where heavy rains are expected. The climatic conditions in these areas justify additional preventive actions to protect the population.

These decisions are part of a proactive approach to guarantee public safety in the face of weather risks. Authorities are urging families to follow official instructions and stay informed of climate developments.

The affected areas are particularly vulnerable to intense rainfall, which could cause flooding or landslides. These measures aim to minimize risks and protect human lives.

The authorities reiterate the importance of strictly respecting the instructions and avoiding any unnecessary travel in risk areas.
