The Casablanca Stock Exchange closes lower

The Casablanca Stock Exchange closed its trading lower on Wednesday, its main index, the MASI, losing 1.4% to 13,053.28 points (pts).

The MASI.20, an index bringing together the 20 most liquid stocks, fell by 1.6% to 1,049.99 pts, and the MASI.ESG, an index of companies with the best ESG rating, as published by Moody’s ESG Solutions , fell by 1.17% to 946.19 pts.

For its part, the MASI Mid and Small Cap, the thematic index which calculates the price performance of small and medium-sized companies listed on the Casablanca Stock Exchange, dropped 1.67% to 1,203.33 pts.

On the international side, the FTSE CSE Morocco 15 lost 0.53% to 12,142.47 pts, and the FTSE CSE Morocco All-Liquid lost 0.56% to 10,960.84 pts.

On a sectoral level, the “Real estate participation and promotion” index showed the sharpest decline (-6.91%), followed by the “Mining” (-5.3%) and “Building and construction materials” ( -3.76%).

On the other hand, the indices “Leisure and Hotels” (+2.23%), “Forestry and Paper” (+1.21%) and “Engineering and industrial capital goods” (+0.7%) recorded the largest increases.

The day’s trading involved nearly 169.46 million dirhams (MDH), carried out mainly on the Central market (Shares) and dominated by transactions on Douja Prom Addoha (21.76 MDH), Résidences Dar Saada (21 .05 MDH) and BCP (17.06 MDH).

For its part, the market capitalization exceeded 679.65 billion dirhams (billion dirhams).

In terms of values, the biggest declines were posted by Résidences Dar Saada (-9.99% to 72.91 DH), Douja Prom Addoha (-7.35% to 29 DH), Managem (-6.49% to 2,160 DH). DH), Balima (-5.83% to 209 DH) and LafargeHolcim Maroc (-5.53% to 1,861 DH).

On the other hand, Maroc Leasing (+6% to 414.45 DH), Promopharm SA (+4.9% to 984 DH), Risma (+2.23% to 245 DH), Stroc Industrie (+1.45 % at 35 DH) and Stokvis North Africa (+1.39% at 10.95 DH) achieved the best performances.
